LEDUC -- The Leduc Community Hospital Foundation continues its efforts to bolster local healthcare.

The foundation's annual report shows the contributions made to the Leduc Hospital over the past year, including a number of noteworthy purchases. Joy Jeong, Executive Director of the Leduc Community Hospital Foundation, says they've made a positive difference over the past year to strengthen quality care and patient comfort at the hospital.

"We've purchased equipment to help with resuscitation, so for compression we have LifePak-35's," said Jeong. "We also purchased small items for the ER, including fridges to hold food for patients in, and all sorts of different monitoring machines as well."

One of the most significant purchases for the hospital over the past year was the new Glidescope, which is a brand of video laryngoscope used by medical professionals to see inside a patient's airway. The LCHF hosts a variety of fundraising events throughout the year, including the annual Charity Golf Classic, which marked its 32nd year this past June.

"We're getting proposals right now from different departments on what we can improve; our biggest focus though is enhancing patient care," said Jeong. "Whether that be on the upper floors, or even inside the ER."

On Nov. 5, 2026, the Leduc Community Hospital Foundation will be hosting a will planning workshop. The evening event will include information about creating and/or updating a will, personal directive, and power of attorney. Presenters will also go over what a will can and cannot do, and why it's so important to have a will prepared.

"It's extremely important because depending on what assets or holdings you have, it determines where it all goes," said Jeong. "So, whether it's going to family -- there are also people that are kind enough to donate portions of their estate to foundations like our own. It's about the legacy you're leaving behind, and that's what a will can set up for you."

These presentations will be led by LCHF partners Jackie, Handerek & Forester Barristers and Solicitors. Registration is required for the event and can be done on the Leduc Community Hospital Foundation's website.
