SPRUCE GROVE -- A resident of Wabamun has been arrested following a month’s long investigation in Spruce Grove.
According to Parkland RCMP, the incident took place at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Sept. 13, 2025, when police responded to an armed robbery with a firearm at a "licensed premise". After a lengthy investigation by the RCMP's General Investigation Section, 52-year-old Kevin Thibert was charged with multiple offences:
- Robbery with an imitation firearm,
- Use of an imitation firearm in the commission of an offence,
- And disguise with intent.
"An armed robbery is a violent act," said Sergeant Collin Kuca, Commander of the Parkland RCMP Plain Clothes Unit. "These investigations can be complex, and identifying and charging a suspect helps to ensure public safety."
Thibert was remanded into custody with his next court appearance on Mar. 25, 2026, at the Alberta Court of Justice in St. Albert.
