On Aug. 14, 2025 at 7:45 PM., St. Albert RCMP responded to a call for service related to a dog bite in the Alderwood neighborhood of St. Albert. Police were advised a 61-year-old women while walking her dog, was bitten by a large black dog. The incident resulted in serious injury and hospitalization to the victim. Alberta Health Services Emergency Medical Services (EMS) attended and transported the victim to hospital where surgical procedures were undertaken.
RCMP have attended the scene and continue conducting neighbourhood enquiries. St. Albert RCMP are asking for the publics assistance in identifying the dog who bite the women, the young adult women who was walking that dog and any witnesses to the incident.
The female dog walker is described:
- Between the ages of 18 to 20-years-old,
- Brown hair,
- Walking a bread of dog comparable to a black coloured Boxer.
The Boxer was larger than the victims Golden Retriever, who also received bites to its hind legs requiring admittance to the veterinarian.
