SPRUCE GROVE---- The City of Spruce Grove has announced the completion of it's newest piece of public art.

The art piece, called "Spruce Grove Roots and Seeds", was designed by artist Tyler Toews and co-designer Kayla Bellerose. It is located in the Decker Properties Atrium at Heavy Metal Place and was created to mark Spruce Grove's 40th anniversary of incorporation as a city.

The mural features wheat fields, plains and Spruce Grove's grain elevator that showcase the city's agricultural roots. It also features beadwork, a spruce cone surrounding the grain elevator releasing seeds, and prairie crocuses that act as as a symbol of renewal and the city's bright future ahead.

The train tracks flowing throughout the mural are meant to establish a connection between the city's past and the present.
