Spruce Grove releases 2025 Annual Report

SPRUCE GROVE---- The City of Spruce Grove has released its 2025 Annual Report.

Last year's highlights include the completion of a multi-year enhancement to Central Park and the grand opening of the Heavy Metal Place. 

The city also undertook various environmental initiatives in 2025 including the installation of solar panels on the rooftop of the Protective Services Building, and the launch of the Extended Producer Responsibility program to reduce the amount of waste collected in black waste carts. Additionally, the city diverted 4,469 tonnes of waste from landfills at a rate of 33.7 percent.

The city spent a total of $131.8 million last year, the majority of which went toward transportation and roadway services. Council also approved a housing strategy to manage the city's growing population and $311 million were achieved in total construction value of residential and non -residential building permits.

2025 also saw three new additions to the city's public art collection, the completion of phase one of the Boundary Road project and various upgrades to storm sewer infrastructure, road surfaces, pedestrian access and traffic signals.
