Parkland County---- Parkland County says their  second annual Community Round Dance was a resounding success.

Held at Jubilee Hall in Wabamun, it invited participants from across the region to celebrate culture, connection, and community. The event honored Indigenous traditions, bringing together people of all ages and backgrounds to share in ceremony, food, and dance. For the community of Wabamun and surrounding areas, the Round Dance  serves as a bridge between generations, cultures, and communities.

During the dance, elders, youth, families, and visitors join hands in a circle, moving together to the beat of the drum  symbolizing equality and the idea that we are all connected

The county says this year’s Round Dance reminds us of the power of coming together, offering space for reflection, learning, and celebration. They add that they were truly honored to have several respected Elders join them, noting that their presence brought warmth, wisdom, and a deep sense of tradition to the gathering and that it was a privilege to learn from them and to share in the evening together.

The County thanked everyone who attended, volunteered, and helped make the Round Dance a meaningful and memorable evening.
