Stony Plain, AB
Take a ride and feel the wind in your hair this summer! After much anticipation and public interest, Bird Canada E-Scooters will be available in Stony Plain next week.
The well-loved electric scooter program has been in place and highly utilized in the City of Spruce Grove for two years. During that time, the Town of Stony Plain received a number of public inquiries and requests for electric scooters to be made available in the community. When Bird Canada approached the Town about the possibility of an agreement for 2025, Administration agreed to an initial one-year term.
“With the addition of the joint trail connection between Stony Plain and Spruce Grove, it encouraged an opportunity to initiate a trial of Bird Canada’s e-scooter program in Stony Plain,” says General Manager of Community and Protective Services Karl Hill.
“The program will help the Town further achieve its strategic priority of offering diverse modes of transportation to our residents and extending a wider area of operation for Bird Canada in the region,” says Mayor William Choy.
