MASKWACIS -- Maskwacis RCMP have charged two people with attempted murder following a serious assault.
According to police, the incident occurred at a residence on the Louis Bull First Nation on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026. It's reported that the male victim sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to hospital after the two suspects assaulted him with a weapon. Officers learned that the man had been assaulted after he managed to run to a nearby residence to call 911.
"This was an isolated incident where the suspects knew the victim and the public was not at risk," said Maskwacis RCMP Cst. Catlin Chaisson. "RCMP learned through investigation that there were two suspects involved and were later arrested in a nearby residence."
As a result, 40-year-old Marcel Littlechild and 35-year-old Catlin Ermineskin were arrested and charged multiple offences, including attempted murder and forcible confinement. Ermineskin had also been the subject of a Canada-wide warrant for failing to return on a statutory release.
Both Littlechild and Ermineskin will be appearing in court in the near future.
