Mecca Glen Transfer Station shifts to new schedule July 10

PONOKA COUNTY -- The Mecca Glen Transfer Station in Ponoka County will be shifting to a new schedule starting next month.

Starting Friday, July 10, 2026, the hours of operation for the facility will change to Tuesdays and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. For waste disposal on Saturdays, residents of Ponoka County will instead need to utilize the Ponoka Waste Transfer Station.

The Mecca Glen Transfer Station is located 13 miles east of Ponoka, two miles south of Highway 53 on Range Road 235. Accepted items at the facility include household waste, recyclables, electronics, metal, household items, and yard waste.

In a statement, the County says the schedule change will allow them to better serve the community. Both the Rimbey Transfer Station and Bluffton Landfill will also remain open on Saturdays.
