PARKLAND COUNTY---- A fire broke that broke out in the southwest section of GFL landfill in Parkland County on November 9th is still under a fire control order.
In a statement to 88.1 The One, the county said emerging hotspots are being closely monitored by GFL and active fire areas have been successfully capped with soil. Firefighting crews are working actively to manage the situation.
Alberta Environment is monitoring any potential air quality changes due to the incident to ensure the safety and well being of the community.
As of now, limited materials are accepted at the site. However, this restriction may change with the condition of the fire.
