Stolen property investigation nabs three in Alberta Beach area

ALBERTA BEACH -- Three people have been arrested in connection with a stolen vehicle investigation.

On Mar. 26, 2026, Parkland RCMP say they were notified after a sighting of a stolen Chevrolet Silverado in the Onoway area. A short time later, the vehicle was used in a theft in Gunn, where the occupants fled towards Alberta Beach at a high rate of speed.

The Alberta RCMP Community Response Team was then able to locate the stolen Chevrolet Silverado in the area of 60 Street in Alberta Beach. The three occupants of the vehicle were arrested without further incident.

As a result of the investigation, police seized a large quantity of methamphetamine, cocaine, drug paraphernalia, and brass knuckles from the three accused individuals. Upon further investigation, one of the accused was determined to be involved in an earlier robbery, which occurred in Spruce Grove near Century Road, where they attempted to steal a vehicle.

Taylor Kootenay, (32), resident of Edmonton, has been charged with the following:

• Robbery,
• Possession of property obtained by crime,
• Drive motor vehicle while unauthorized.

Kiesha Monias, (30), a resident of Edmonton, has been charged with the following:

• Possession of property obtained by crime,
• Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Kelsey Bearhead, (29), a resident of Duffield, has been charged with the following:

• Possession for the purpose of trafficking x2,
• Possession of property obtained by crime.

Taylor Kootenay and Kiesha Monias were held in custody with their next court appearance set for Mar. 30, 2026. Kelsey Bearhead was brought before a Justice of the Peace and released with his next court appearance on Apr. 15, 2026.
