SPRUCE GROVE---- Phase one of Spruce Grove's Boundary Road Project is now complete. The work included upgrades in the section of road from the existing roundabout at Copperhaven School to Holy Trinity Catholic Church. The project is meant to improve traffic flow and connectivity on the west side of the city.
"Completing The first phase of The Boundary Road project is a significant milestone for the city," said Mayor Jeff Acker.
The construction also includes a road closure and will continue south to Highway 16A in spring of next year. For now, the north section of the Joint Trail has reopened temporarily for the winter and will close again once the road work resumes.
A stop sign will be placed midway with speed limits in the area expected to remain at 30 kilometres per hour.
"We look forward to seeing the community take full advantage of these improvements after the road is complete next year," said Mayor Jeff Acker.
The city says that the project will bring long term benefits to residents, businesses and commuters and thanks the residents for their patience as they continue to invest in infrastructure to support a growing and connected community.
