PARKLAND COUNTY -- A recent water line break in Parkland County has now been repaired.
Authorities say the break occurred on the main supply line serving Wabamun and Entwistle at around 10:00 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 13. As a result of the incident, a water usage restriction was put in place over the weekend for the affected region. "Condition A" water restrictions include a temporary ban on municipal water-use operations.
Despite the incident, a statement from Parkland County stated that drinking water remained safe and available while repairs to the affected water line were made. This comes as County crews continued to closely monitor water levels throughout the system over the last few days. Officials with the County say the repair work was led by the West Inter Lake District (WILD) Water Commission.
In an update provided Tuesday, Feb. 17, it was stated that the water line had been successfully repaired. The water usage restriction – "Condition A" was rescinded at that time, and there are no longer any restrictions in place for residents.
