PARKLAND COUNTY -- Parkland County's Seniors Shuttle Service is officially back up and running.
According to the County, the shuttle service allows seniors aged 65+ and residents with disabilities to travel safely and affordably throughout the community. They note that the shuttle operates on Tuesdays only, travelling west to east from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The service is open to everyone, with priority given to seniors and people with disabilities.
Parkland County officials say the community-focused service is funded in part by the Government of Canada's New Horizons for Seniors Program, and relies on strong local support to keep rural residents connected.
For 2026, the program is adding monthly seniors field trips, providing riders with more chances to get out, socialize, and enjoy local events. The first field trip -- planned for Friday, Feb. 20, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. -- will see service provided to Tomahawk Jamboree.
To utilize the shuttle service, residents must complete an application, purchase tickets, and book a seat. For more information or to reserve your spot, visit www.parklandcounty.com/shuttle or call 780-727-3947.
