PARKLAND COUNTY---- Provincial funding of up to $562,500 was recently announced for two rural road infrastructure projects in Parkland County.

The investment will be provided through Alberta's Strategic Transportation Infrastructure Program.

A total of $450,000 will be used for the replacement of an aging bridge culvert on Range Road 73, with its completion estimated in 2028.

The remaining $112,500 will support engineering design and hydrologic assessment work for a future bridge culvert replacement on Sundance Road, with design work set to begin this year, and construction projected for 2029.

"Agriculture, energy, gravel operations, and other important economic activity across the County all rely on being able to move safely and efficiently throughout our region," said Mayor Rod Shaigec. " Safe, reliable routes keep our residents connected and our local economy moving."
