PARKLAND COUNTY -- A serious collision between a truck and motorcycle has resulted in the death of a 69-year-old man.
The incident occurred on Highway 627 between Range Roads 273 and 274 in Parkland County shortly after 6:00 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 13, 2026. Upon arrival to the scene, police say it was determined that a pickup truck had collided with a motorcycle.
The driver of the motorcycle, described as a 69-year-old male resident of Edmonton, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The sole occupant of the pickup truck, an 82-year-old male resident of Spruce Grove, did not sustain any injuries.
A collision reconstructionist attended the scene, and the cause of the collision is still under investigation. Emergency crews were on scene throughout the morning, and traffic was diverted for several hours. Shortly before noon, the area was once again clear.
