WABAMUN -- A new community hub and library facility will be coming to Wabamun.
While specific details such as a possible location and financial scope of the project have yet to be revealed, Parkland County staff note that they've now entered the process of tendering for concept designs. Community Services Director Brandon Sidhu says provided the latest update at the County's Governance and Priorities Committee meeting on March 3, 2026.
"One of our capital projects that we're pursuing is our Wabamun community hub and library project," said Sidhu. "The background with this right now in its current state is that administration will be tendering for concept designs to support future development planning. The goal is to create a centralized community hub."
He says that once completed, the new facility will expand local programming space, provide multi-use community areas, and accommodate administrative offices. It will also increase service levels and access while enhancing the long-term sustainability of services.
Wabamun joined the municipality of Parkland County in 2021. Since then, the County says it has been dedicated to fostering a strong environment for businesses and residents alike, with a focus on creating a clear and adaptable regulatory framework to attract new enterprises to the Hamlet area. The County has invested $18.5 million into the area over the past five years.
