Fire- Stony Plain
A fire investigation is underway following a fire that engulfed two homes in Glenforest Crescent off 57th Avenue in The Glens neighbourhood. The Stony Plain Fire department received the call at 2:19 PM Sunday afternoon.
Fire Chief Trevor Mistal says, “Due to the size of the fire we called upon our mutual aid partners, Spruce Grove and Parkland County to assist. A total of 33 firefighters worked together to put the fire out.”
“It appears the fire started in a shed and quickly spread to the houses. Fortunately, no other homes in the cul-de-sac were damaged,” says Mistal. “The fire was under control within an hour, and no injuries were sustained.”
Residents of both houses were home at the time and exited without incident. Neighbouring homes were also evacuated as soon as crews arrived.
Fire crews are still on the scene. The investigation is being conducted by the Stony Plain Fire Department.
