PARKLAND COUNTY---- Parkland county mayor Rod Shaigec recently shared an update on the latest developments in the Acheson Industrial Area in conversation with 88.1 The One.
The investments made within the interchanges along highway 16A have opened up considerably more area in Acheson and sparked the interest of developers.
"The construction with the underground utilities is going into play now, and we are expecting to see construction of buildings later this year," said Mayor Shaigec.
In addition to the construction update, the Mayor also discussed the concerns shared by residents during County Chats.
"We have received complaints about our roads this year, which has been a challenge with the weather that we do have," said Mayor Shaigec.
Concerns regarding pail etiquette for equine use were also discussed during County Chats.
The County also received the Canadian Financial Award for Reporting last week. The award is presented by the Government Finance Officers Association and recognizes high quality financial reporting.
"Council is proud of the work that's been done by our staff and it is reflected in the fact that we do and continue to offer low taxes to our residents." said Mayor Shaigec, attributing the recognition to the hard work of the county staff.
