PARKLAND COUNTY -- A fire that broke out last week in the Acheson Industrial Park remains under investigation.
In a statement to 88.1 The One, Parkland County Fire Services say the blaze occurred on the evening of Friday, May 22, at a metal recycling facility on 111 Avenue. The fire involved contents only -- including old vehicles, miscellaneous scrap metal, and other materials -- and there was no damage to any structures.
Parkland County Fire Services worked alongside fire crews from Stony Plain, Devon, and Spruce Grove, utilizing tankers, engines, and aerial apparatus to manage and extinguish the fire. It's noted that crews were on scene for approximately 10 hours in total. The fire was declared under control after roughly three hours. Alberta Environment was notified about the situation.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, and the incident remains under investigation.
