Yesterday, 71 people from 27 different countries became Canadian citizens at a ceremony held in Stony Plain. The ceremony continues a long-standing tradition of welcoming new Canadians to this great country and is hosted by the Town in partnership with Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
"The citizenship ceremony is a day to celebrate inclusion and belonging," said Mayor William Choy. "We are proud to host this ceremony, honouring Canada’s newest citizens while showcasing the rich and diverse community of Stony Plain.”

The Citizenship ceremony is a valuable opportunity to advance these goals, aligning with the Town’s Strategic Plan to enhance and promote a sense of community belonging and inclusion.
