NISKU -- Charges have been laid following a recent break-in at a business in Nisku.
According to Leduc RCMP, the incident occurred shortly before 1:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 7, 2026. Upon arrival to the scene, police were able to set up containment of the area and quickly locate and arrest the initial suspect, 33-year-old Leduc County resident Gregory Hostetler-Schlender.
He has since been charged with one count of break-and-enter with intent and one count of possession of break-in tools. Following further investigation by police, a second arrest was made. 42-year-old Kyle Conlon of Whitecourt was taken into custody and also charged with one count of break-and-enter with intent, and one count of possession of break-in tools.
Hostetler-Schlender was held for a Judicial Interim release hearing and was remanded into custody. He then made his first court appearance in the Alberta Court of Justice in St. Albert on May 11, 2026. Conlon was also remanded into custody and appeared in court in Drayton Valley on May 12, 2026.
Leduc RCMP ask the public to promptly report suspicious behavior, as early reporting supports effective response and ongoing investigations.
