LEDUC -- Nicole Russett is set to become the new principal of École Leduc Estates School.
The Black Gold School Division says that Russett is slated to take over the role starting in the 2026-2027 school year. She joins Leduc Estates after previously serving as principal of Thorsby Elementary. In total, Russett brings over nine years experience as educator, having served in various administrative roles throughout her career.
"Nicole's experience in French Immersion and in a K–6 school, both as a principal and as an Assistant Principal, will be beneficial to ÉLES. We are looking forward to her return to Leduc and the passion that she brings to inspiring student success," said Ray Cable, BGSD Superintendent of Human Resources. "Black Gold School Division is fortunate to have strong leadership across our schools, and we are excited to see Nicole bring her experience and commitment to student success to École Leduc Estates School."
In a statement, Russett says what she values most about education is seeing students succeed through a collaborative approach with parents and the community. She also enjoys building relationships and looks forward to connecting with staff, students, and parents.
"I am extremely excited to join École Leduc Estates School for the coming school year. I am passionate about French Immersion and love the Leduc community," said Russett. "I look forward to joining the ÉLES team and continuing the great work already happening in the school community."
Nicole Russett will take over the role held by ÉLES's current principal, Erin Keca, who has served in the position since 2024.
