In September 2024, the Leduc RCMP Drug Unit entered into a drug trafficking investigation, with the assistance of members of ALERT.
On Nov. 29, 2024, Leduc RCMP conducted a traffic stop in the City of Leduc. As a result, Ali Mustafa JOMHA (52), a resident of Leduc, was arrested and charged with trafficking a controlled substance.
Following the arrest of Jomha, a search warrant was executed at a local hotel. Further evidence of trafficking a controlled substance was seized, as well as production of a controlled substance.
Following further investigation, Jomha has been charged with the following offences:
- Trafficking in a controlled substance x4 – cocaine
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking x2 – cocaine
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking – GHB
- Production of a controlled substance – GHB
- Proceeds of crime - cash
Jomha has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court in Leduc on Dec. 19, 2024.
