Ponoka Stampede Parade set for June 26

PONOKA -- Motorists are advised of temporary road closures set for Friday's Ponoka Stampede Parade.

The annual parade will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the Ponoka Arena before making its way through the downtown area. There will be temporary road closures on all roadways along the parade route beginning at approximately 9:00 a.m. and ending at around 12:00 p.m. immediately after the parade wraps up. These closures will be in effect along multiple roadways, including:

• North on 55 Street (from 45 Avenue to 48 Avenue)

• East on 48 Avenue (from 55 Street to 51 Street)

• North on 51 Street (from 48 Avenue to 57 Avenue)

• East 57 Avenue (from 51 Street to 50 Street)

• South on 50 Street (from 57 Avenue to 46 Avenue)

• West on 46 Avenue (from 50 Street to 54 Street)

• South on 54 Street (from 46 Avenue to 45 Avenue)

Parking bans will also be in effect along these roadways throughout the duration of the event. Motorists are asked to remove all vehicles from roadways prior to 9:00 a.m. on Friday, June 26. Vehicles that are not removed may be towed at the owner's expense, according to the Town of Ponoka. Drivers are also asked to observe all barricades and signage in the area.
