PONOKA COUNTY -- A two-vehicle collision yesterday on Highway 815 resulted in minor injuries.
In a statement provided to 89.7 The One, RCMP say they were called to the motor vehicle collision just after 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2026, on Highway 815 at Township 420. It's noted that two pickup trucks had collided in the area -- one traveling south on Highway 815, and the other traveling east on 420.
The collision caused one of the vehicles to roll over and the other to burst into flames. Both vehicles had one occupant, as both suffered minor injuries. One of the occupants was transported to hospital via ambulance while the other was transported via STARS. The crash prompted a significant response from emergency crews, including police, EMS, and Ponoka County Regional Fire Services.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
