STONY PLAIN---- The Town of Stony Plain has introduced a new program in an effort to support a greener and healthier environment.

The program is called Team Up to Clean Up and is a year round event for residents, schools, groups and organizations to clean up garbage and debris in parks and public spaces. Groups can sign up to host clean up events throughout the year, and are no longer limited to the spring pitch in week.

Funding will also be provided for special clean up events, including the Farmers' Day's Parade.

"Team Up to Clean Up is a simple but powerful reminder that we all have to play a role in caring for our community, and an excellent example of our environmental commitment as outlined in the 2025-2028 Strategic Plan," said Mayor William Choy.

Participants are encouraged to take photos during their clean up efforts and tag the town on social media channels using the hashtag #TeamUptoCleanUp.

"It's inspiring to see residents, students, businesses and volunteers step up to help keep Stony Plain clean and welcoming for everyone, " said Darcy Carter, Manager of Parks and Leisure Services.
