SPRUCE GROVE -- The BCHL's 2026 All-Star Weekend in Spruce Grove is one week away.
The league officially named Spruce Grove as the host city back in October, as all of the weekend's festivities will take place at Thompson Family Arena at Heavy Metal Place from Jan.16-18. According to league officials, the weekend will be highlighted by the College Prospects Game and the Canada vs. World Game.
For the College Prospects game, Saints' forward Brandon Funk has been added to the Team Interior roster, where he'll suit up alongside Saints' defenceman Carson Lloyd. Funk has 22 points through 30 games played this season (12 G, 10 A), while Lloyd has 15 points (5 G, 10 A) through 28 games.
Meantime, Tre Peck has been added to the Team World roster for the Canada vs. World Game and will no longer participate in the College Prospects Game after receiving an NCAA Division I commitment last week. Peck is the Saints' leading scorer with 24 points in 29 games played this season (11 G, 13 A).
Also suiting up for the Canada vs. World Game will be Saints' forward Felix Haibock. The 19-year-old Austrian will suit up for the World squad during the marquee match-up of the all-star weekend set for Saturday, Jan. 17. In 26 games so far this season for the Saints, Haibock has 22 points (12 G, 10 A) to go with 48 penalty minutes. The rosters were decided after a vote between the 20 league head coaches.

For the College Prospects game, the head coach of the Interior squad will be Simon Ferguson of the West Kelowna Warriors, while Cam Keith of the Cowichan Valley Capitals will be behind the bench for the Coastal team. For the Canada vs. World Game, Eric Thurston of the Trail Smoke Eaters has been selected as the head coach for Canada, while Simon Ferguson will coach the World team. Coaches were selected based on their team’s winning percentage at the holiday break.
"The BCHL is excited to make our league-wide event debut in Alberta with this year’s All-Star Weekend in Spruce Grove," said BCHL Commissioner Steven Cocker. "We witnessed firsthand this state-of-the-art facility at the Saints’ home-opener and were immediately impressed by the facility and local support. We can’t wait to get out there in January and showcase the best the league has to offer."
Other events taking place during the weekend will be the VJHL All-star game on Jan. 17 at 3:30 p.m. while the JPHL U-18 AAA semi-finals and finals will take place starting at noon on Jan. 18.
