PONOKA -- Luci Henry has been re-appointed as Board Chair for the Wolf Creek School Division.

The decision was made during the Board's organizational meeting held on October 30, 2025. Henry, who begins her third term as trustee from Clive, will continue to serve as Board Chair. The Ward A representative spoke following her reappointment, saying she's proud to continue her work in the role.

"It’s a tremendous honour to continue serving as Board Chair and to help guide this new chapter for Wolf Creek Public Schools," said Henry. "With a mix of experienced and new voices at the table, we have a wonderful opportunity to bring fresh perspectives while building on the strong foundation of trust, collaboration, and student-focused decision-making that defines this Division."

She adds that she's looking forward to working together with her fellow Trustees on our new four-year plan for WCPS, while also continuing their advocacy for the needs of their students and communities.

Ponoka trustee Lana Thompson, who is currently serving her second term as trustee, has been selected as the Vice Chair of Wolf Creek Public Schools. She noted at the meeting that she also has a lot of optimism for the future of the Division.

"It’s inspiring to see new energy and ideas joining our Board," said Thompson. "As we move forward with our new education plan, we’ll continue to focus on what matters most — student success, staff well-being, and ensuring families have confidence in their local public schools."

Thompson says she's proud to serve alongside her colleagues as they advocate for resources and support that reflect the realities and strengths of their rural communities. During their organizational meeting, the Board also made committee appointments, including ATA Negotiations, Audit, Grievance, Liaison, Board representation on ASBA Zone 4, PSBAA, TEBA, and the Rural Caucus of Alberta School Boards, and others.

The Board of Trustees of Wolf Creek Public Schools comprises six trustees: Board Chair Luci Henry (Ward A), Vice Chair Lana Thompson (Ward B), Jamie Coston (Ward C), Brent Buchanan (Ward D), Paula Law (Ward D), and Karla Danser (Ward E).
