MASKWACIS -- Police are searching for a male suspect in connection with a recent firearms incident in Maskwacis.
RCMP say the incident occurred at approximately 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 17, on the Montana First Nation. It's alleged that a male victim was robbed by two men who were armed with a rifle. Mounties report that the victim was able to escape the situation unharmed, while the suspects fled the scene in a blue SUV.
Investigation revealed the identity of the individuals who drove away, and a warrant was obtained for the arrest of 36-year-old Jesse Lee Roasting and 38-year-old Melvin Myles Cattleman, both residents of Maskwacis. Cattleman has since been arrested and was charged with robbery with a firearm, possession of a firearm when prohibited, possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, and three counts of failure to comply with a release order.
