BLACKFALDS -- A woman who allegedly stole more than $500,000 from her employer is now facing charges.
According to Blackfalds RCMP, the situation was first reported to police by the local business on January 17, 2025. It's alleged that the suspect -- 37-year-old Tristyn Caylee Torris -- had stolen more than half a million dollars from her employer over the span of several years.
The nearly eight-month long investigation was led by the Blackfalds General Investigations Section, which determined that charges should be laid. Torris was taken into police custody on September 10th and charged with the following offences:
- Theft over $5000
- Fraud over $5000
- Forgery
Torris has since been released from custody, with her next court date set for October 29, 2025, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Red Deer.
