RIMBEY -- A Ponoka County woman has been arrested for stealing a horse from a local property.

Rimbey RCMP say the horse theft occurred in June and resulted in 28-year-old Katrina Doiron being charged with cattle theft over $5000. A warrant for her arrest was issued this week, and she was officially taken into custody on Thursday, August 14th.

Despite the arrest, police say that Doiron has refused to disclose the current location of the horse, whose name is Hank. They add that she has also indicated to authorities that she's in the process of attempting to sell Hank, and remind anyone who buys him that they could also face charges.

As of today, RCMP in Rimbey along with the Livestock Investigative Unit, continue to seek assistance in locating Hank, so he can be returned to his rightful owner. If you have any information regarding the whereabouts of Hank the horse, you're asked to contact Rimbey RCMP or your local police. If you wish to remain anonymous, you can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).

Police say that Katrina Doiron has been released on an Undertaking for Court in Rimbey on October 1st.
