BLACKFALDS -- RCMP are appealing for information following an armed robbery in Central Alberta.
Mounties say the incident unfolded at around 6:30 a.m. on Friday, March 6, at the Chevron Gas station on Vista Trail in Blackfalds. It's alleged that two suspects, both dressed in heavy winter clothing, entered the store and stole both cash and cigarettes. One of the suspects can also be seen on the store's surveillance footage holding what appears to be a handgun.
Following the incident, the suspects were then spotted crossing Vista Trail and are believed to have gotten into a nearby vehicle. A preliminary investigation into the matter has determined that the suspects are both male. They were both dressed in masks and heavy winter clothing, and also wore leather work gloves.
While RCMP continue their investigation, they are asking area residents to check their video surveillance, doorbell, and dash cameras for the suspects. If you have any information, you're asked to contact the Blackfalds RCMP at 403-885-3333 or your local police.
