PONOKA -- Ponoka's municipal splash park is once again open to the public.
This comes as preparations at the popular amenity have now been completed by the township. This has included maintenance tune-up work to ensure the park is ready to go for the season -- which gets underway this week and lasts until the end of September.
"The Ponoka Splash Park is an outdoor facility for all ages that promotes fun and active water play and continues to be a popular destination each summer," said the Town of Ponoka in a statement.
According to the municipality, the amenity will be open to the public from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. daily throughout the summer months. They add that washroom facilities are also open for the season at Lions Centennial Park for guests to use, and that they are cleaned daily. The splash park is located on Highway 2A just north of Highway 53 and was constructed as part of a joint effort between the Kinettes, Kinsmen, and Lions Clubs in Ponoka, with assistance from the Town of Ponoka and Ponoka County.
The Town reminds members of the public that animals are not permitted in the park.
