PONOKA -- The Town of Ponoka's third annual Fall Fest will take place this Friday.

The festivities will include an evening of live music by Shalaine Stebner and Tap9, activities, and various food vendors. The event will officially get underway at 3:00 p.m. and wrap up at 11:00 p.m.

According to the township, residents can anticipate traffic disruptions for the duration of the event. This will include a full closure along 51 Avenue from 50 Street to 51 Street. In addition, the parking lot on the south side of 51 Avenue will be closed starting at 8:00 a.m. on September 5. This is to allow for event set-up, as Ponoka staff ask that all vehicles be removed by this time.

Motorists are reminded to drive with caution in the downtown area, observe road signs, and watch for pedestrians. While admission to the event is free, the Town notes that tasting tickets will be available for purchase on site.
