PONOKA -- The date has been set for the start of this year's Ponoka Farmers' Market.
The annual amenity will open to the public on June 5th, and run from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. every Wednesday until September 24th. Ponoka council approved the start date -- as well as the location -- at last week's regular meeting.
According to the township, this year's Farmers' Market will be located on the eastern portion of the parking area at 4902 Highway 2A. The subject parking area currently serves patrons of Centennial Park, though town staff say the market will not interfere with the operations of the nearby splash park. In years past, the market had operated from the west parking area at the Ag Event Centre.
The operators of this year's Farmers' Market say they expect between fifteen to twenty vendors each week. In addition, they are also hoping to operate a week-long event during the 2025 Ponoka Stampede.
