Ponoka Rising Sun Clubhouse to expand board of directors

PONOKA -- The Ponoka Rising Sun Clubhouse is expanding its board of directors.

This comes as the not-for-profit organization is seeking an additional two board members to support their overall vision. The Board of Directors acts as the main governing body for the non-profit, holding financial and ethical responsibility for the organization. Unlike regular staff who handle daily operations, the board for the Ponoka Rising Sun Clubhouse focuses on high-level strategy, oversight, and policy.

"We welcome individuals who are passionate about community, mental health, and making a difference," reads an online post from the PRSC. "Whether you bring professional experience, community connections, fundraising skills, or simply a heart for helping others, your contribution matters."

For more than three decades, the PRSC has been a place of belonging, connection, and opportunity for adults living with mental health challenges, mental disabilities, acquired brain injuries and complex needs. The organization first got its start operating in a former laundry building in 1984 before formally opening under the society structure on September 1, 1994.
