Ponoka Market
The Ponoka Community Market needs a new home.
The market recently learned the Town of Ponoka has sold their rental building to the local Legion.
"We don't want to move and we're all sad but we'll find a place and good on the Legion, they needed a new space, too," manager Debbie Lamey said.
The market, which has been operating in the old library, needs to find a space large enough for about three dozen vendors.
"This has to carry on because it's such a good market and our people love it and we're doing good with the money, like we're gonna get our field house." Lamey told the One.
Since the market started 8 years ago it has had a mission of donating money made from table rentals to the Ponoka Arts, Rec and Cultural Society.
So far they've raised about $52,000.
The market's last day is April 1st.
