BLACKFALDS -- One person has died after being struck by a vehicle near Red Deer.
According to the Blackfalds RCMP, the incident occurred on Highway 2 north of Mackenzie Road shortly before noon on Monday, December 8, 2025. Mounties say that initial reports indicate that a pedestrian was attempting to cross the highway when they were struck by a southbound vehicle.
Upon arrival to the scene, the pedestrian was located deceased by emergency responders. The deceased has been identified as a 31-year-old female resident of Red Deer. Police remained on scene for several hours investigating the collision.
An investigation into the incident is still ongoing and we'll have additional information on this story if it becomes available. Blackfalds RCMP send their condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
