RIMBEY -- The new Rimbey & District Chamber of Commerce will be fully operational come January.
In a letter to the Town of Rimbey, the Chamber says they have officially revitalized the society and plan to host their inaugural Annual General Meeting next month. The organization notes that their first event, 'Pub Night' at Rendezvous Hops & Grill, was very well attended and received by members of the local business community. The Chamber of Commerce also held its 'Twilight Holiday Shopping' event on Dec. 4.
Chamber officials say that heading into next month's official launch, their budget is quite low due to most of their business memberships not coming in until the start of next month. Because of this, the Chamber filed a $5,000 funding request with the Town of Rimbey late last month. They say this funding will help them solidify their revitalization, especially in terms of hosting their AGM come January.
They state in their letter to the township that their first AGM will be crucial in ensuring their long-term success and sustainability. Also in their current plans is the hope to create a future Awards Night for Rimbey businesses.
