MASKWACIS -- Maskwacis RCMP are investigating a suspicious death on the Samson Cree Nation.
This comes after the Mounties say they responded to a 911 call from a local residence at approximately 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 5. Upon arrival to the scene, officers discovered the deceased body of a 25-year-old male resident of Maskwacis.
While further details have yet to be released, Maskwacis RCMP say that the Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation. RCMP are now seeking the public's assistance in reviewing any available video surveillance or dash camera footage recorded between 4:30 a.m. and 6 a.m. on Sept. 5, 2026, in the area of Cranes Crossing in Maskwacis.
