Maskwacis, AB
In February of 2025 Maskwacis began an investigation into illegally purchased firearms in Maskwacis. As part of the investigation, RCMP identified a suspect and observed that several firearms purchased by the suspect were recovered at crime scenes in Maskwacis and other Detachments and Provinces.
As a result of the investigation, RCMP have charged 24-year-old Maskwacis resident, Colby Ray Buffalo with, Firearms Trafficking and Transfer without authority.
The RCMP are continuing efforts to locate outstanding firearms and this investigation is ongoing.
“Maskwacis RCMP continue efforts to reduce the amount of illegally used firearms in Maskwacis,” says Inspector Richard McKay, “part of that effort includes investigating and charging those that are acquiring and distributing firearms for an illegal purpose.”
