Kinsmen Downhill Derby set for Sept. 19

PONOKA -- Ponoka residents are advised that traffic disruptions will be in place during Saturday's Downhill Derby.

The annual event, hosted by the Ponoka Kinsmen Club, serves as a family-friendly soapbox go-kart race event. It's designed as an inclusive, multi-generational community project where youth aged six to fourteen collaborate with families to build, decorate, and race custom gravity-powered go-karts. This year's event will take place in Ponoka's Riverside neighbourhood with races scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m.

Motorists are being notified that from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., 42 Avenue will be closed to area traffic between 43 Street and 45A Street. During this time, residents are asked to drive with caution in the area, observe road signs, and watch for pedestrians.
