Kinette Club of Ponoka announces fashion show fundraiser

PONOKA -- The Kinette Club of Ponoka has announced the date for its upcoming fashion show fundraiser.

According to the local non-profit organization, the brand-new event is scheduled to take place on April 19, 2026. While all of the details have yet to be released, the fashion show is expected to bring together various community groups and businesses to help raise funds for the Kinette Club's annual scholarship bursaries. President Christina York says the idea for the fundraiser has been in discussion for nearly a year.

"Since last spring, we've been coming together with a plan for a new idea for fundraising for our scholarship bursaries," said York. "We have been a group since 1983, and through the years, fundraising has evolved, and what we put our money towards in the community has also changed."

Since October, the non-profit has been working to put together the logistics for the upcoming fashion show, and in early January, they began meeting with local businesses. They note that additional information about the fundraiser will be released in the coming weeks.

For more than 40 years, the organization has worked through volunteering and fundraising to strengthen the local community.
