Drivers may have to take a detour Thursday afternoon

Some streets will be shut down to traffic

A number of roads around Ponoka will be closed to traffic according to an announcement from the Town.   

In a statement posted to its website the Town reminded motorists temporary road closures would take effect May 30th from 5:30 to 7:30 in the evening to accommodate this year's high school graduates.  

They will stroll down the streets starting at the Ponoka Arena Complex and then follow the traditional Ponoka Stampede Parade Route.  

The Town advised motorists to drive with caution around the route highlighted in the map above so grads and their families can safely celebrate this special occasion.
