The Battle River Watershed Alliance detailed concerns in their latest newsletter
A community organization is sharing concerns about water levels in a local river. In their August newsletter, the Battle River Watershed Alliance said residents have told them how low water levels in the Battle River are affecting the aquatic life. Several people have noted fish and clams are dying.
According to the BRWA staff are monitoring the water flows. It added people can also make their own reports to the provincial government's 24 hour Environmental Response telephone line (1-800-222-6514).
The situation is also affecting municipal water supplies. The City of Camrose recently announced it was implementing mandatory water restrictions due to the lack of water coming into Dried Meat Lake from the Battle River.
