PONOKA -- Chelsea Williams is set to become the next assistant principal of Ponoka Elementary.
Williams will join the school from John Wilson Elementary in Innisfail, where she previously served as a Student Support Lead Teacher. According to Wolf Creek Public Schools, she's recognized as a collaborative educator and strong instructional leader who will bring extensive experience in supporting students with literacy and social-emotional learning needs.
"Chelsea is an exceptional educator who is deeply committed to supporting student success and positive school culture," said Sonja Dykslag, Assistant Superintendent of People Services. "She is known for building trust quickly, collaborating effectively with staff and families, and creating supportive learning environments for students."
Williams holds both a Bachelor of Arts in Education and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work, and is also a graduate of the Chinook’s Edge Aspiring Leadership Program. The WCPS notes that she's also currently completing her Master of Education in Educational Leadership.
"I am grateful for the opportunity to join Wolf Creek Public Schools and Ponoka Elementary School," said Williams. "I look forward to working with the school community to support student learning, well-being, and success."
She's set to assume her new role with Ponoka Elementary starting in the 2026-2027 school year. Williams lives in Lacombe with her family and says she's excited to begin a new chapter with WCPS this coming fall.
