MASKWACIS -- Mounties in Central Alberta have charged a 36-year-old Maskwacis resident following a deadly two-vehicle crash.
RCMP say the head-on collision occurred on Highway 2A south of Wetaskiwin on July 1, 2025, and resulted in the deaths of two people. Upon arrival to the scene, Mounties say they were able to rescue the occupants of one of the vehicles, which was fully engulfed in flames. However, the two occupants of the other vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene.
They've been identified as a 61-year-old male resident of Van Nuys and a 64-year-old female resident of Wetaskiwin. A collision analyst attended and processed the scene shortly after, and after a thorough investigation, the RCMP General Investigative Section charged Maskwacis resident Terrance Buffalo with multiple charges.
These include two counts of impaired operation of a conveyance causing bodily harm, and two counts of Impaired operation of a conveyance causing death. He was officially taken into custody earlier this month and will appear in court this coming Tuesday, October 28.
