Charges laid following homicide investigation in Ponoka County

PONOKA COUNTY -- Charges have been laid following a months-long murder investigation in Ponoka County. 

On February 24, 2026, Ponoka RCMP located a deceased 92-year-old male outside his residence on a rural property. An investigation into the matter was launched following the autopsy, which deemed the death of Loel Fenske to be a homicide. The RCMP's Major Crimes Unit investigated the matter over the course of nearly eight months, and now, charges have been laid against two men.

48-year-old Timothy Bull, and 19-year-old Syran Bull, both residents of Maskwacis, have been charged with the second-degree murder.

After a Judicial Interim Release Hearing, Syran Bull was remanded to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Ponoka on Oct. 6, 2026. Timothy Bull was remanded to appear in Albert Court of Justice in Ponoka on Oct. 16, 2026.
