Candidate Profile -- Edwin Geuder

PONOKA -- Edwin Geuder is looking to become the next Mayor of the Town of Ponoka.

Geuder's platform focuses on boosting community safety and attracting new business investment. Speaking to 89.7 The One, he talks about why residents should support his mayoral campaign.

"The only way to achieve the impossible is to believe it is possible," said Geuder. "I believe that when we work together, united, we can actually bring all these things back into the town, and make the town what it should be -- safe, affordable, and attractive."

Geuder says that in terms of public safety, he would advocate for a more collaborative approach between RCMP and the CPO to boost foot patrols in the community. He adds that he has pushed for enhanced safety on Ponoka roads at Council meetings throughout the years, and that if elected, he would make it one of his top priorities.

"My first goal would be to solve the problem with our speeding and safety," said Geuder. "The second biggest problem is that Town Council should be available to people."

Geuder will be up against incumbent Kevin Ferguson, who's held the seat since the 2021 election.
